Purplexity to the Rescue!

A fleeting glimpse of the Yummiest Belly in All the Land, battling for dominance of the Camera Cord of Dangliness

And Marlow attempting to escape from his weigh in at The Biggest Gainer, apparently under the impression that it is not his duty to sit still for the camera. Apparently he is no longer awed by the Kitchen Scales of Heaviness.

DamnDamnDamn

We went to visit Purplexity & B & Purple & MacBeth & Demeter & Heidi & Kiara & Enoch & Marlowe last night and I forgot to bring my camera! Doh!! Marlowe had come out of his shell more now - he spent most of the visit lying on his back in my lap savaging my fingers. So. Cute.

So, instead I'll attempt to distract you with a yarn pic - the above is my second delivery from the Pick Up Sticks sock club - I highly recommend this club. Apart from anything else, you pay as you go - you get an invoice once a month and you choose whether or not you're participating that month. So, the above is VvS yarn in Peacock colourway - ain't it purty?

Okay, you asked for it.....

This is the yarn that started it all - Kelly very kindly ordered me some KnitPicks (otherwise known as the BastardsWhoWon'tShipOverseasNoMatterHowMuchYouBeg) - Three Skeins of Knitpicks Shadow(?) for a lacy thing, and two skeins of wool/silk sock yarn... mmm.....

This guy is my absolute favourite!! Kelly made him so I could have a monster of my own to fight off the Depression Monster! I adore this guy, I love him!

A kit for a purple monkey to put on my window. Or....my desk..... bwahahaha!

Stitch markers! Aren't these gorgeous??They're so pretty! Also, although you can't tell thanks to my Crap Photography, the long chain of beads on the right are actually a beautiful bracelet!

A cd intriguingly entitled Jekyll and Hyde the Musical....

Sticky things and stampy things! Please note the way cool 'K' notepad!

More crafty things! A cross stitch kit (I love cross stitch), and a knitted head band kit!

Whew. My parcel ROCKS.

Now, I must start plotting my return parcel..... Bwahahahaha!

The First Layer

*drool*

Haha!

I'm going to enjoy this drawn out process! Beautfil wrapping paper!

And a cute card!

The Box, the Box!

This post is dedicated entirely to the Box. Kelly thoughtfully provided some instructions for opening the wondrous package.

Probably a good thing, too.

There was an accurate contents description.....

And even a limerick!!

Tune in tomorrow for the contents of.... The Box.

Ooooh!

Feeling all grumpy and mopey, I got home last night to find these on my doorstep.....

Next post - The Knit Wit's Parcel!!

And the Cute Goes On

Enoch the Adorable ensnaring Gibbering the Susceptible in his Inescapable Web of Kittenlisciousness.

Monday, November 13, 2006

Ahem.

Yep, this is what cruising ebay at 1.30am will get you. 20 skeins of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport. Total cost USD$160. Ouch. But so much pretty yarn!! Purplexity has already selflessly offered to help with the knitting of this bounty when it arrives. Actually, despite being dirt poor again now, this picture still makes me drool. So - a lot of socks, or a different project?

Hint

When you're having a bout of insomnia, and you're sitting at your computer at 1.30am, that's NOT a good time to bid on ebay.

Oyyyyy......

New Technology and a New Kitten Name

Finally, I have joined the ranks of the technologically up to date. I bought a phone. It's little, it's funky, I've had it for all of twelve hours and I never want to be without it again! I've discovered texting. I love my phone.

And this little menace? After yesterday's visit, we decided he really wasn't a Moriarty after all (Sorry, La!). We actually think he's a Marlowe. I say Marlowe because of Kit Marlowe the playwright, Dave says Marlowe because of Phillip Marlowe.

I think he's a Marlowe. What do you guys think?

In Which The Cuteness Makes My Brain Explode

We went to visit our baby!

There was much pouncing.

I have many more pictures, which I will post over the next few days when my brain resolidifies.....

Moriarty's Butt

Look at his widdle paws!!I love the mad little look on his face as he boldly smacks his tail into submission....

We're going with Moriarty for now....

Enoch the Adorable

Gibbering and her Enoch - taken last weekend, when he was not quite four weeks old... look at that widdle belly!!! His paws are already huge, and he's quite the explorer. Ooooh, widdle paw pads!! Sorry, I'll attempt to gain control of myself now.....

Thankyou so much for all the congratulations and name suggestions - we didn't want to commit to another cat at first - the three we already have have such a good social balance that we didn't want to disrupt it. Also, four cats means I am officially a Crazy Cat Lady. But Purplexity was anxious that he go to a good home, that he would be an indoor cat, and that she could visit him as he was growing up. And noone came forward! Despite copious advertising and pictures! We agreed to be the last ditch option - if noone else wanted him, we would take him. But. The second we agreed that, of course, he started to become ours. Someone finally expressed interest in him. But it was too late. Mwahahaha! We're going to visit him again this weekend, so expect some more pictures!

Meet M

We are officially able to announce that we are adopting the little grey kitten from Purplexity's blog!!!!!!

We've decided his name must start with M. Any suggestions?

WTF Wednesday

Obviously, the world has been turned topsy turvy. Because, people, I FINISHED ANOTHER PAIR OF SOCKS. Oh yeah, I'm back baybeeee! These are the Gentlemen's Shooting Stockings from Knitting Vintage Socks - obviously the self striping Trekking wasn't entirely ideal for this pattern, but it was in the right place at the right time and I really enjoyed knitting these. So there. And, in another twist to this stunning tale, these socks are FOR ME. That's right, I am not giving these away, they are mine - comfy, warm, and just right for mooching around the house in.

Photo brought to you by Flexibility, Determination, and Willingness to Risk Life and Limb in Pursuit of a Good Angle.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was a public holiday in Melbourne. Which is sweet enough, but I spent the entire day knitting, eating icecream, and watching a huge stack of dvds. Bliss.

Suburban Savagery

The menacing

Killkillkillkillkill!

This (artificial) flower was in my secret pal package. I have no doubt that its dismembered remains are hidden...somewhere.....in Savage Suburbia......

Meiko Monday

After my Secret Pal Parcel Photo Session the other day, Meiko refused to believe that there were no more cat toys in the box.....

Dorian came to help...

Aha!! She finds the bag of cat treats! Victory is assured!

What I don't have a picture of is the sulking that took place when I removed the cat treats from her possession on the grounds that I didn't think it was a good thing for her to be eating the plastic bag as well.....

Thrift Shop Happiness

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is one of my favourite books ever. I have one or two copies of it about the place. But now I have a copy of Jane Eyre where the lady on the front is KNITTING. I am such a geek.

Belated Secret Pal Package Pics!

Bath supplies with Duck. I love me some Duck!

A gorgeous cat card and some spinning supplies

Some beautifully soft green/blue sock yarn, a sample kit for trying out colourwork, and a big stick of peppermint candy!

A cute little sheepy notebook, some needle protectors, and some sweet little stitch markers

And tea! A japanese tea cup, tea, and chocolate... mmmm... chocolate...

There were also cat toys and some cat treats, but the cats objected strenuously to being deprived of them for the photo shoot!

THANKS SECRET PAL!!

Sorry Miriam!!

This is the other shot of my Sky Seraphim shawl - I didn't post it originally because the colour didn't come out too well - this looks quite washed out, when it is actually a vibrant mix of sky blues. I have posted this because of the gentle rebuke administered by Mim for only posting a teaser shot......

Sorry Mim...

I'll be good, I promise!

Crap

Left the camera in the car again!

I got nothin'.

Except - if you're both feeling a bit down and decide to go to the movies with friends at the last minute, DON'T PICK FAST FOOD NATION. The scenes near the end in the meatpacking plant prompted me to walk out of a movie for the first time ever.
